Gemotions

The pool water felt cool and refreshing against Ethan's skin. He surfaced, pushing a stray strand of wet hair from his face. The chlorine scent was a familiar comfort. He'd finished his training session, his muscles humming with a pleasant ache. He gazed over at the empty bleachers, the only sound the gentle lapping of the water.

He'd made the team for sure. He'd practiced so hard. He felt a sense of belonging among the other swimmers. Coach Davies wanted to see him. Probably wanted to talk strategy.

He dried off, the towel soft against his skin. He felt a profound sense of peace. He took a deep breath, and walked towards the coach's office.
